  • Meeting mental health needs in Wyandotte County

At Vibrant Health – Wyandotte Neighborhood Clinics, our mission is to improve the health and well-being of Wyandotte County residents. Mental health is a key piece of a person’s overall well-being, and we’re committed to serving both our community’s physical and behavioral needs.

The need for behavioral health services is growing rapidly in Wyandotte County as our community understands more deeply how trauma impacts children and adults. Many in our community have been impacted by multiple traumas, and the need for behavioral health services is critical.

Vibrant Health provides integrated care: our primary care physicians work closely with our behavioral health specialists and provide introductions to families who may benefit from mental health support.

Our therapists work with children, their families, and adults to provide mental health care using interventions like play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, and family systems coaching, to treat depression, anxiety, behavior issues, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, hyperactivity in children, and more.

We’re working to provide a safe space for individuals and families to be able to process trauma in their lives, and find and integrate coping skills into their daily routines that will enable them to feel healthier and happier.

Like all Vibrant Health services, our behavioral health clinic accepts most insurances, including Medicaid, and operates on a sliding fee scale for those who are uninsured. Our goal is to provide affordable access for mental health services for anyone who may need care.

We’re also working to meet patients where they are. Beginning in August, one of our behavioral health providers will be co-located in a Kansas City Kansas Public Schools middle school. Located in the school building, they’ll be able to take referrals from teachers and administration, and students will be able to access therapy during the school day, eliminating barriers to care like transportation, child care, and more.

Through these services and more, we’re committed to helping Wyandotte families lead healthier and happier lives. If we can help you through behavioral or mental health care, please give us a call.
