In August, Vibrant Health held our first Back to School Examathon and it was a resounding success! We provided 173 children with physicals, which are required by Kansas City, Kansas Schools for school attendance. The physicals enabled our patients to start school on day one, ready for a successful school year.
The Examathon was an example of community health in action. The goal of community health is to partner with the community, meet needs, and provide holistic care. There was a line out the door an hour before the Examathon began, demonstrating significant community need.
And many of the patients seen at the Examathon were new patients, several whom were identified as needing more care. These patients were able to schedule follow-up visits to further assess any existing health needs and receive quality care from Vibrant Health.
It was a fun day, for everyone! A four-year-old patient’s mom shared that when she told her child, “You have to get your physical today,” the patient sighed. But when they pulled into the parking lot, the patient said, “this doesn’t look like a physical. This looks like a party.”
We wish all of our patients a wonderful school year, and are thankful we could help them get ready for a great year!
